How big do labs get?

I am no expert but asked several lab owners and vets for the "average" height and weight they are seeing these days and this is what I have found.

Males

Height: 24 - 28 inches

Weight: 75 - 100 pounds

Females

Height: 22 - 26 inches

Weight:  60 - 80 pounds

What colors do labs come in?

3 main colors are Black, Yellow, and Chocolate although there are now silver, cinnamon and red colors but AKC only recognizes the 3 main colors.

What is their temperament like?

Labs are loyal, loving, affectionate, patient, wonderful with kids & they make a GREAT family dog. Highly intelligent, good-natured, very willing and eager to please, and very easy to train makes this breed 1 of the top choices for service dog work. Labs love to play, especially in water, and will almost never pass up a good swim. Labs need to feel as though they are part of the family! Labs can also be great watch dogs!

What is their life expectancy?

With lots of love, good nutrition, exercise, and regular vet checks, labs can live 10-15 years!

What kind of health problems ar they prone to?

ALWAYS make sure your dog is fully vaccinated and de-wormed. They can be prone to several eye problems, PRA (Progressive Retinal Atrophy), mast cell tumors, hip and elbow dysplasia.
